We had multiple callers asking for x amount of canning produce this year again. Unfortunately for them, we grow csa style meaning most of our crop plans, seed ordering and starting happens way before anything is ready to pick. So when we get these calls at the last minute for large amounts of produce we are sorry we cannot help everyone and just try to educate the community that if you want something for later, please allow us to plan for it! It is truly the only way you can be rest assured you will have ideal amounts of naturally grown produce farmed using organic methods.
All canning veggies are available on a first come first serve basis for farm subscribers having dibs on each week's crop availability no later than 3 days before their pick up day. After that, we will take reservations and payments for product that we will have extra of for canning, etc. Please let us know if you would like to be on the weekly availability list.
For 2010 we will plan accordingly which veggies you would like to have me grow for your canning needs. Because I was swimming in certain canning/freezing veggies in 2009 for Wish List Customers that did not follow through with payments, I will only accept pre-paid subscriptions paid in full by April 1st, 2010 of the following:
Organic Romas-2.50 a lb
Organic Pickling Cucumbers 3.00 a lb
Organic Bell Peppers Green and Some Red/Yellow/Orange 4.00 a lb.
Organic Onions 2.50 a lb
All of these are slated to be ready for pick up late July-late August 2010.
